Fishing

Last year the cub scouts had a fishing clinic for part of day camp and I discovered that Nicole's PE teacher summers as a fishing instructor. He conducts a free weekly clinic through the park district and we finally got around to signing up. I insanely decided to bring all four kids, and intelligently invited my friend Jennifer, who, as always, helped TONS (wore one twin while I wore the other).

Learning how to fish and why we don't keep everything we catch and how to be a responsible angler...

Jennifer and Caroline fishing

Nicole and teacher with her first and only fish.

Jacob with his first of seven... eight... (not his first time fishing)

Emma. She tried to fish, really she did. But it requires waiting, patiently. Instead she played in the rocks (probably scared a few fish away), ate a granola bar and asked when it was time to go.

I even helped Jacob throw back a fish-ewwww. Next time she wants to go, I'm sending Nicole with Jeff.
Brooklyn doesn't understand why the juice won't come out.

All smiles.
